Post LG model 37LG3000
Hello,

We have an Lg 37LG3000 which has no remote control operation and no sound, both happened at the same time. Have done some diagnostics with some help from the internet and everything points to the remote control sensor board (EAX43425703) not working.

What I can't find out is will that fix the 'no sound' problem. Have tried all sorts of tests with external equipment to try and get sound from another source but the input control is all run through the remote control! The side panel controls will allow me to change channel (the picture is fine), the volume display is corrupt on the screen and has no operation. There is an 'input' button on the side controls but doesn't do anything (not even sure if it ever did!)

Any help or advice gratefully received - driving me mad now as the picture quality is great and seems like it should be I simple fix (how naive I am?)

Just as an update for future repairs, after excellent advice from Flat TV Parts I have replaced the Main Av board and ..... its all back working :D Remote control and sound all fixed.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask but I have noticed, and its only on an odd channel or two, that for about 1 minute the picture and sound aren't sync'd. Once it syncs and I change channel and go back, its not sync'd again. Really odd, never noticed anything wrong before. Is it something I can change in some settings on the tv or should I just not bother and be pleased I've fixed the other problem ??

Thanks, we feel the love! :)

Are you referring to the sound being out of sync on digital channels? If so, we find this on certain digital chipsets. Unfortunately, we know of no way to get around it; it's mainly a problem on cheaper LCD sets; not usually a problem on LGs!

It is on the Digital Freeview channels, through the normal 'roof-top' aerial, I have no connection to Sky or cable. I have only noticed it on the various 'shopping channels' , Dave and Dave-ja-vu. I have e-mailed LG customer support, but I'm not expecting any miracle fix from them, my experience of their support is pretty poor. Once the Tv is out of warranty they treat their customers like the proverbial brown stuff.

Think it's just going to be something to put up with and it's certainly better than no sound at all :!:

Thanks again
